Provenance - Hamilton Sale, 15 July, 1882, Lot 1509

This charming portrait presentes French pastel painter Marie-Suzanne Giroust, Madame Roslin (9 March 1734 – 31 August 1772), who was  known more  as a wife of Swedish portrait painter Alexander Roslin.

The original portrait by Alexander Roslin was published by Gunnar Lundberg in 1957 but also is known another replica of this portrait from the collection Anders Zorn.  I’m very  thankful to contemporary  Swedish painter Johan Patricny to his great help in identification of this charming portrait (surprisingly  in his Instagram  Instagram.png ) .
